The short version

This site is paid for by display advertising. On our registered agent, late filing, reinstatement and annual report guides you will also find one clearly labelled partner link. If you sign up with that provider after clicking it, we earn a commission. You pay exactly the same price either way.

We tell you the free option first on every one of those pages, because for most single-owner LLCs being your own registered agent costs nothing and is the better answer. We would rather lose the commission than talk you into a bill you do not need.

Who we partner with

One provider, Northwest Registered Agent, on the pages where the question actually comes up: our registered agent and statutory agent articles; since August 28, 2026 our late filing and reinstatement guides, because the notice you missed was mailed to the agent address on your public record; and since August 30, 2026 our annual report guides, because that is the same address the next reminder will go to. The link runs through the Awin affiliate network, which is how the commission is tracked. It appears nowhere else on this site — not on our state hubs, not on our general compliance guides, and not on our annual report filing services review, which carries no partner links at all.

We are not owned by, employed by, or exclusive to Northwest Registered Agent. They have no say in what we publish, they do not review our articles before they go live, and they cannot pay for placement in our compliance guides.

What a commission does not buy

• It does not change state fees, deadlines, or filing requirements. Those come from Secretary of State and tax-authority sources and are cited on every page.
• It does not raise your price. Affiliate commissions are paid by the merchant out of their own margin.
• It does not appear on our comparison and review content. Our annual report filing services review promised readers no affiliate links, and it carries none. A promise in print stays a promise.
• It does not make paying the right answer. Every placement names the situations where doing it yourself wins.

How to spot it

Partner links carry a disclosure box directly above the link, open in a new tab, and are tagged so search engines do not treat them as an editorial recommendation. If you do not see that disclosure, it is not a partner link.
